Let's Get Acquainted!

A Grades 10–11 Kyrgyz Language topic: «Таанышалы!» (Let's get acquainted, Unit 1, pp. 5–11, A. A. Omorova et al.). The lesson covers greeting and introduction formulas and the ceremonial («Урматтуу айымдар жана мырзалар!») and everyday («Эже! Байке!») forms of address. The second half deals with business documents: in an application «to whom» goes in the top right corner, «from whom» below it, and the date, signature and surname at the end. An өмүр баян (autobiography) is a business document written in your own hand in free form. Business documents allow no words expressing feelings, no colloquial style and no figurative usage.
