Grade 8 topic of the subject «Computer Science»: 1.2 «The laws of logic» (I. N. Tsybulya et al., «Computer Science, Grades 7–9», pp. 63–65).
To find the value of a complex logical expression you need to know the laws of logic; some are similar to the laws of arithmetic: identity (A = A), commutative, associative and distributive laws. Additional laws include De Morgan's law, double negation and non-contradiction.
Logic problems are solved by formalization. Example: Azhara, Diana, Ira and Tamara study different languages; answer: Tamara studies Japanese, Diana Chinese, Ira English and Azhara French.
