A Grade 6 Natural Sciences topic: «Unit 1 A. The respiratory system» (pp. 15–18, Jaswinder K. Randhawa, Natasha Mehta).
Breathing is taking in air and pushing the used air back out. Oxygen comes from the air we breathe. The nostrils: hairs in the nasal cavity clean the air of dust. The larynx and trachea are the airway that joins the nose to the lungs. In the lesson a model of a lung is built from a bottle and two balloons: the small balloon stands for the lung. New words: breathing, oxygen, nostrils, larynx, trachea, bronchi, lungs.
