Kyrgyz Literature of 1960–1990

A Grade 11 Kyrgyz Literature topic: «Kyrgyz literature of 1960–1990» (pp. 3–7). The final-year course sums up earlier literary learning. The span falls into two periods: 1960–1985 (the USSR a strong state, culture developing fast) and the years of perestroika. In the 1960s–70s vulgarising criticism faded and Kyrgyz literature became known across the Union and the world. Ch. Aitmatov received the Lenin Prize for «Тоолор жана талаалардын повесттери» and the USSR State Prize for «Гүлсарат». The first book of U. Abdukaimov's novel «Майдан» appeared in 1961. The authors covered: T. Sydykbekov, T. Kasymbekov, S. Eraliev, B. Sarnogoev, T. Abdumomunov, M. Baijiev.
