Материал жөнүндө
A Grade 10 Kyrgyz Literature topic: «Kyrgyz manuscript literature of the 19th–20th centuries» (pp. 3–7, K. Asanaliev, S. Baigaziev, S. Jigitov, K. Imanaliev).
The shared Turkic written culture — the Orkhon–Yenisei stone inscriptions, Mahmud Kashgari's «Дивану лугат ат-түрк» and Jusup Balasagyn's «Кутадгу билиг» — is the Kyrgyz people's inheritance too. Poetry, the chief cultural treasure, was kept orally. In the 19th century the rise of literate people gave birth to manuscript literature. Its representatives: Moldo Niyaz, Moldo Kylych, Togolok Moldo, Osmonaaly Sydyk uulu, Belek Soltonoev. It never reached a high level: it did not grow out of native soil, and its historical run was short.
