About this material
The first mathematics topic for Grade 1: properties of objects — colour, material and shape (I. B. Bekboev et al., pp. 4–7).
Learners practise naming an object's colour, saying what it is made of (wood, wool, flour, glass, fabric, plastic) and recognising the four basic shapes: a circle has no corners, a square has 4 equal sides, a triangle has 3 corners and a rectangle has 4 corners. They then sort objects into groups and carry on a repeating pattern.
The presentation can be shown to the class full-screen: the slides page with the arrow keys and include tasks and games.
